The Beton Brut Manteau

A coat like a concrete column.

The Beton Brut Manteau is inspired by the simple but refined beauty of Brutalist architecture. Carved from a blend of virgin wool, angora, and cashmere that is at once warm and soft, but also hard and durable, the Manteau provides a warm, safe haven from the harsh, cold world outside.  A single seam on each side of the coat traces from the front to the back, hiding magnetically sealed handwarmer pockets and oversized zippered pockets.  At the base, this seam becomes a zippered vent: keep it closed for increased warmth and protection, open it for ventilation and mobility.  Inside are large zippered pockets big enough for a magazine, tablet, or laptop, with smaller organizing pockets inside to store headphones, a phone, or passport.  A columnar collar keeps the wearer warm and comfortable, or can be worn open.  The cut is a balance between volume to cover anything one may wear underneath, and a flattering, elegant cut.
